TravelCon in Portland: Insights and Reflections on the Business of Travel | 50 at 60 – Episode #8

When I decided to begin this year of immersion into my own country this year, I noticed that the TravelCon conference was on again this year. I had attended this before in Boston a few years ago. Although this is a conference on the business side of travel, somewhat designed and created for the travel influencer (which at this point, I am NOT), I thought it would be a great place to begin my journey of the USA this year, getting excited about the possibilities ahead of me whilst learning a bit about an industry that I am dipping my toes into.

Although geographically, a perfect place to begin my quest of visiting all 50 states this year, Portland was not exactly at the top of my bucket list for the year of places to visit. I struggle with that during this 3 day stay here as I “sharpen the saw” at the conference and while beginning to explore a bit of this vibrant city.

In Episode #8 of my 50 at 60 journey, I attend the TravelCon Conference in Portland, Oregon, a dynamic event dedicated to the business of travel and travel influencers. Join me as I participate in inspiring sessions throughout the day, gaining valuable insights and connecting with fellow travel enthusiasts. Throughout the conference, I had the pleasure of listening to and connecting with several amazing travel content creators, including:

@laura-bronner‬, @chubbydiaries1, ‬‪@nomadicmatt‬‪, @hopscotchtheglobe‬‪, @chrisandsara‬‪, @NotAScratchGolfer‬, ‪@travelingjules‬‪ , @LocationRebel‬‪, @AliceFordAdventures‬, ‪@AskAConcierge‬

Despite the enriching experience at the conference, I end the day with mixed thoughts about the city of Portland, pondering its current state and future. Dive into the world of travel business with me, and don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe to follow my adventures across all 50 states.
